"Lyrical" means expressing landscapes, time, and emotional fluctuations like poetry. Lyrical pottery translates this sensibility into the world of ceramics, shaping human emotions through clay, glaze, and firing.
Within this lies the ancient Japanese aesthetic of "mono no aware" - a sensitivity that finds beauty in transience and cherishes the fleeting nature of things.
When I touch clay, my heart naturally calms. Things don't always go as planned, but I believe that's where the interest and beauty lie. Without overthinking, if someone finds joy in the pottery I create, or if it moves their heart even a little - that makes me happiest.
